I've run across this fellow many times and that's why I tend to believe there are three unrelated lines of Agans in the US. Those that trace their histories back to 1) Georgia, 2) New York and 3) Indiana. My 4th great grandfather, William, was born abt 1775 in North Carolina. He was already in Indiana (Orange County) in 1815. He died in 1824. Some researchers point me in the direction of Washington County, TN and the family of Barnabas Eagan for an answer, but this is not very fruitful. Does anyone have any research prior to the 1800s for our family?
