Hi, Dereka.I see its been a long time since you posted this message, but I just joined the forum. In fact I too am desperately seeking Christine Harris.Anyway, my father FBAgard wrote a book which he titled "Agards in America".He's been gone several years now, but I continue to work at it.Not knowing what you know, I'll summarize briefly his information, using his numbers even though they may mean nothing to you:Lydia Agard d. of Benjamin 41 and Sarah b. 1779 married Abbe and seems out of the running (it's my own line).Lydia d. of Benjamin 412 and Sybil b. 1844 far too late and married Goodell.Lydia Soule married James Agard 111, but was having her own kids in 1787 and 1789, not named Lydia and not in Dutchess County. One Baker married into the family, but far removed in time and place.
Christine adds: Lydia daughter of Caleb Agard 43 (twin brother to Joshua 44, sons of Benjamin 4).She has Caleb marrying a Lydia Ford in 1785 in Cummington, MA, and having two kids Sarah and Lydia, christened respectively in 1786 and 1788, no other information on them.I don't know where Cummington is, but there are parts of MA which are close to Dutchess County NY.Rough country. It can't be ruled out, but I have reservations which I will discuss another time.My father's sources were experts on the Benjamin line and should have known at least SOMETHING about Caleb--they knew EVERYTHING about his twin--but they did have their gaps and this is one of them.
Perhaps by now you have this resolved, in which case I hope you will tell me what you found, and even if not, what is your theory. If you prefer you can email me directly firstname.lastname@example.org.I am semiretired math prefessor at U Minnesota.
