The Illinois Public Domain Land sales lists a Jesse Agee who made 6 land purchase's starting in 1848 to 1853 in the County of Christian totaling 403 acres. The 1850 census for Christian County, Illinois page 128 lists Jesse Agee age 46 farmer born in Virginia, his wife Elizabeth 40 born in Kentucky no issue however there is a Marion Durous 10 born in Illinois. They never show up again after 1850.
I first thought this to be Jesse R. Agee and Elizabeth Satterfeild but that proved to be wrong. I not having the Agee register to rely on have searched the internet for several months to find a Jesse that would match this discription. No luck.
Christian County is close to where my Agee family first setteled in Illinois. My Agee line is from Anthony Agee and Christian Worley to John Agee and Mary Ogg (still trying to prove this) to Jacob Agee and Ailcy Burchett to William Agee and Synthia Wynn to John Calvin Agee and Lydia Ellen Fanning to Charles Pinkney Agee and Susan Ellen Cox.(these are my grandparents) the rest of my family are still living. It was William and Synthia that brought my family line to Illinois, they settled first in Greene County between 1870 and 1880 from Robertson County, Tennessee via Pike county, Missouri 1860.
If anyone has any information as to who this Jesse Agee might be I would be eternally greatful.
