Carol Reigard, Greetings! Louis N. Agee, my grandmother's cousin, compiled the information for his book, "The Agee Register" from several sources. There had been 2 compilations of Agee descendants done earlier. One (ca 1890) by the Rev. James Wesley Agee entitled "The Agee Record" listed the 24 grandchildren of Mathieu Agee. He was contemporary with many of the grandchildren. The next compilation was done by Dr. Purl Agee, (1937). Louis N. Agee passed away in 1982 and his wife, son and daughter published his book that year. It contains much information given to him by the family, some corrections or comments of Dr. Purl Agee's information, and some information he had access to since he lived in Virginia and was past Registrar of the National Huguenot Society. It probably contains errors, but we are so very fortunate to have it.It has certainly helped a great many family members sort out and research material that was really not readily available to Dr. Agee or Lois Agee.I have seen The Agee Register available on ebay once in a while, and I believe there is a firm that can copy a book for you. I do not know the cost. Carol, I can copy the 4 pages that contain material on Jesse Agee's familyNo. 23 of the 24 grandchildren of Mathieu Agee. If you want to email me your address. I am at email@example.com.I cannot copy whole portions of the book, but there is just a small amount on this grandchild. His son, William Ransom Agee apparently married a VA girl and they moved to Calloway Co. Mo. where he appears on the 1850 census, age 39.His first child was born there so he must have been in MO by 1835. His son, James Humphrey Agee m. Anna Isabella Reynolds, dau of Robert and Martha J. Pugh Reynolds. Their son, Thomas Jefferson Agee m. Olive Compton (Miller Co. MO). I hope this helps.
