Thanks for the personal information. I collect as much info as I can for the SC and PA AGNEW branches trying to connect all the dots to my own Virginia family.
I have previously read Mississippi's Samuel Agnew's interesting diary entries, when trying to get a feel of the living conditions at that time for my South Carolina ancestors who had moved to Mississippi. Although my Agnew relatives were still in Virginia during the civil war, my Evans family left Newberry County, SC sometime after my great-grandfather, Moses Evans, was born there in 1811. During the mid-1800's Moses settled in theDeKalb, MS area. Larkin Griffin, another great-grandfather from the Abeville, SC area, found himself residing in Shreveport, LA, at the outbreak of hostilities.
