Dear Jimmie, Your posts to the Agnew Family Forum are very interesting to read.In this one you state you have another book about the life of the Agnews after 1865.
Margaret J. Agnew, daughter of Dr. Enoch Agnew and Letitia Todd married my gr uncle Richard Augustus Simpson.Their marriage is recorded in a Simpson Family bible as Sept. 7, 1871 by her brother Rev. S. A. Agnew.I assume the marriage took place in Mississippi but I'm not sure.Unfortunately, all of their children died early but one, a Margaret A. Simpson.I have estimated her birth about 1887.Their son, William Enoch Simpson, was born 1872 and died 1903 in Memphis from accidental injury.I have an obituary on him.The other children I have for them are Mary Elizabeth Letitia Simpson born 1875 and a Paul Simpson born 1879.The 1880 census shows this family in Bolton, Hinds County, Mississippi, living next to Richard Augustus' sister Mary Simpson Graham.
If you have anything on this family from the book, I would certainly appreciate corresponding with you. Please email me.
Richard Augustus and Margaret Agnew Simpson are both buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, Tennessee. Richard Augustus Simpson was the son of William Simpson and Elizabeth Snoddy Simpson who married in Spartanburg county, SC and moved to Pendleton, Anderson County, SC in 1852.Their son, John William Simpson was my gr grandfather and his son William Graham Simpson, my grandfather. They all stayed in the Pendleton area where my father was born and I was born in Anderson.
