No mam, I have no proof of the Agnew Ireland connection.I have seen it posted by others many times, but have seen no documentation offered to back it up. I do not doubt that it is a very strong possibility. Larne, in Northern Ireland was the main dearture point for protestant immigrants to America. My husband and I were in Belfast on business in 2006 and I wanted desparately to get further north to research in Larne, but it was not in the cards at the time. One of the Belfast libraries maintains a large collection of documentation, but the building was closed during my visit. You know what they say...timing is every thing. We did get to tour the Ulster Folk Park, a lovely complex with a large collection of old buildings, many of them were the original ancesteral cottages of several different families whose descendants became some of our American Presidents.
