I have several lines of Ahearns who seemed to have moved back and forth between Western PEI and New Brunswick. I think they all descended from Peter Heron [Ahearn]who was listed on the 1798 Census of Malpeque with a household of 12.Here one
Descendants of Joseph Ahearn
Generation No. 1
1.Joseph4 Ahearn(James3, Peter2, Peter Heron1) was born Abt. 1825.He married Ann Tait 1848 in St Simon St Jude, Tignish, PEI.She was born Abt. 1830 in Ireland.
More About Joseph Ahearn: Fact 1: 1871 census of Newcastle, NB lists 8 more ch. age 1 mos. to 20 yrs all b. NB
Notes for Ann Tait: Ann's name is spelled several ways. She was baptised 5/21/1849 at Tignish at nineteen years old three days after the birth of her first child Ann was born. She was listed as the wife of Joseph Ahearn and dau. of James Tait and Ann Jane Paige of Miramichi. Her sponsors were Ann and John Ahearn and the God parents of the baby Ann were John Ahearn and Flora MacDonald. I expect they were married before this in a non-Catholic ceremony at Miramichi because I didn't find any record of their marriage at St Simon St. Jude.
