Larry - it looks like your wife is my 2nd cousin! I have since made corrections to the family tree and do have William Patrick as my great-granddather.
My mom is Madeline Bernice Ahearn and my father is John Joseph Walsh. My mother and aunt, Margaret Ahearn-Hagen, remember your wife and Uncle Harold attendting their mother's funeral and that they stayed with their brother, Frank.
I spoke with them regarding Fred and Henry - they said that Henry had 5-6 kids, they think he went to NY and that his son Robert was a doctor. (does any of this sound familiar?)
They also spoke of Aunt Anna (nee Gleason) and Uncle Arthur Gravel from Connecticut.
Did Pat's mother die at a young age? - they may be mistaken, but they said they remember that Harold had 5 daughters, his wife died young and the girls were schooled where Sister Mary Catherine (Gleason)was a nun with the "Sisters of Mercy" in Burlington, VT. They said that Sister Mary Catherine became a Mother Superior and is buried in the cemetery near the church.
I e-mailed and obtained my grandfather's name from the "Sisters of Mercey" along with Mary Catherine's DOB and date of death, etc.
If you e-mail me with you e-mail address - I will send you the link to my home page with the family tree.
I have pictures of most of the Ahearn-Gleason gang already scanned and will be glad to e-mail you whatever I have.
It's great finding out more info. on the Vermont area conncection. It seems that quite a few of the Ahearns/Gleasons may have stayed in that area and I probably have more relatives there!
It's a shame that the family didn't keep in closer touch with each other.
Get back to me when you have an chance, it will be great hearing from you!
