I was browsing genforum on the internet and came across your posting in 2002. You state that;

"My great grandmother was Harriet Ahern, born in Bathurst, Australia about 1840. She married Angus Kennedy in Bathurst in 1859. Her parents were James Ahern and Jane (nee Miller). I have not been able to find out anything more about them, and would be grateful for any information anyone can give me."

I also am a great grandson of Harriet Ahern and Angus Kennedy and have been researching the family for several years with mixed results. My main stumbling block has been James Ahern and I'm keen to learn anything that you can tell me about him. I initially connected him with Murtagh Ahern and Mary Abbey but I am now led to believe that he has no connection to them, and have been informed that he was from Cork, born 1799, transported to NSW, and a few other facts.

What information do you have that could assist. Also I'd be most interested to know of your connection to the Kennedy line.
