Looking for others tracing CONDON, AHERN and CROTTY families of parish of Lismore, Co. Waterford, Ireland, with connections to families of CONDON, CAVANAGH, DUNPHY and others in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey and possibly in Ireland.
Patrick CONDON (b. abt 1827) and wife Margaret AHERN (b. abt 1827) married and had one child in Ireland, Michael H. (b. abt 1850, possibly in November). The family then emigrated to England, where their next 2 children were born - Hannah (b. abt. 1853) and Thomas (b. abt 1856). The CONDONs left England for the US about 1857 and settled in Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, where 6 more children were born (Ellen, Margaret, Mary, John, William Patrick and Josephine). Brothers Michael and John CONDON married sisters Jane and Ellen (Nellie) DUNPHY in Paterson; Thomas CONDON married Ellen (Lena) CAVANAGH in Paterson.
Living with the CONDONs in Paterson, at least temporarily, was Margaret CONDON's brother Michael AHERN, who was born in Lismore about 1834. A "brother-in-law" named William CROTTY placed an ad looking for them in the Boston Pilot on 6 Feb 1869. At that time, CROTTY claimed to be living in North Lawrence, Stark County, Ohio, but I have not been able to find him there in any records so far and do not know what became of either him or Michael AHERN.
The CONDON, CAVANAGH and DUNPHY families were closely connected in Paterson, and I suspect they may have all come from near Lismore.
