During Revolutionary War Doctor John Peter Ahl enter the Army service as Surgeon's Mate, July 5, 1777, served in Colone Armand.s Legion, was wounded in a skirmis,Whie Plains, New York, by a Sabre cut on his his head and was discharge on July 5, 1781, after which he was a Surgen under General Muhlberg, was at the surrender of Corwallis and was dischared,November 6, 1783.
He stateed upon his enlistment he was enter on the rolls of the Army under the name of JohnP. Venall, being advised by the Colonel of the Regiment, to make that change as he had been before 'Impressed" into the British Service and had not been regularly Discharged".
After the War he resided in Augusta, County Virginia' in Westmorland County, PA. 1820-21, moved to Baltimore, 1821, became pensioner (PA. Rolls Tolls),May l, 1821. He died in Baltimore City July 23, 1827,He was 79 years old at the time of his,
