Hello Jackie Best Wishes for 2004 and a fruitful search. My original purpose was to find the location of grandfather Georges burial. This was successful and I made the assumption that the Elizabeth buried alongside was a partner. However it could be his sister. I need to check this out. My father never really talked about his family until now. Says that was because he did not know much. Brefly George Snr was apprentice on London Underground and went to Bombay India in 1926/7 when Dad was 4yrs. old. The family returned in 1938 and there was a split. The war intervened and dad later returned to India. In a limited conversation he has said that there was secrecy around this time because of German name -people did not talk much. At this point he does remember someone called Pip and an Uncle Albert but not sure whether this was on paternal or maternal side. He also remembers Isleworth and N. Acton. I now have an address for a cousin (son of Georges daughter Alice). If anyone has information on origins it will possibly be him as all documentation was held by this branch of family. I am not sure how recent you would like your research to be. If you have any information on contact between the younger generations that might be relevent to your searchor act as an aide memoire please let me know.
Dad always thought that his grandfather Albert died young. Do you have his date of death? Have I read somewhere that someone of the family continued living at 14 Ingestre Place until the 1940's/50's?
