Could you be talking about the James AIKEN from Rockingham Co., NH? Have you seen the "History of Old Chester" by Benjamin Chase? I got most of my information on this family from this book. I noticed you are a also a MCARTHUR; James AIKEN had a daugher Margaret, who married John McARTHUR (I am descented from this couple.) As far as I can tell the following sons of James AIKEN were in the Rev. War: (1) Andrew, b. 1755, d. 6 Mar 1835, served with Capt. Stephen Dearborn and joined the continental army, 1777. He was a sergt. (2)James, b. 1762, d. 28 Jul 1777 at Fort Miller. Died of disease or wounds; (3) Samuel enlisted in teh First New Hampshire, 3 Apr 1777, discharged 5 Apr 1780; and (4) John, who would have been very young but could have served near the end of the war. I haven't been able to find any pension information on him. He is said to have married Betsy McDUFEE.
