Sorry, Angie, I do not have any information regarding Sarah Thomas. James Aikens RS (Rev Soldier)was married and had a familywhen he lived in Granville co. NC. A house fire occurred some time after 1790.It is believed that his wife and psssibly some of his children died in that fire. The names of his wife and children are not known, but it is believed that at least one male child (William) survived to become my ancestor. At age 48, James sr re-marries a second time to Dyce Henson of South Carolina, and subsequently they had 6 children (3 girls and 3 boys), of which the oldest was named James jr.The one that you asked about originally, "Thomas" may have been the second or third son born to James sr and Dyce during the 1830's in Roane co TN. I am trying, yet, to confirm the names of his wife and children from the first marriage.Tentatively, I have "Sarah Pleasants" as the first wife, and "William" as at least one of the sons to survive the housefire. William, I believe, followed James sr to Roane co TN, thence to Bedford co where he can be found in the census of 1830. I hope this helps.
What is your connection to the Aken/Aiken/Aikens family of Roane co.? IV Akens
