I already contacted you via direct e-mail, but I wanted to place a response on the GenForum for anyone else who might be looking later.
Henry Akin (spelling according to records in the area) is said to have Scottish origins. He was born c. 1694 (based on age at death, see the end of this reply), and apparently sailed from Londonderry, Ireland, in 1710 to Boston.
We do know that he lived in Lexington, MA, in August of 1720 when he married Isabel Holmes in her home town of Woburn (based on marriage records of BOTH towns). She is said to have been the daughter of "Rev. Mr. Holmes."
Their first son was born in Boston in 1723, the rest of the children appear to have been born in Middletown, CT, where all their birth records appear.
Henry and Isabel had four children, three boys and a girl, your Henry was the youngest.
After Isabel died in 1731, Henry married Margaret Woods and proceeded to have five more children.
Henry and some of his family moved to Norfolk, CT, in 1762 (he followed your Henry there, in fact), and he died there in 1778 (according to church records) at the age of 84 (according to his tombstone).
