Arthur Albert AIKEY (AA Aikey) was b. 15-July-1917 in Altoona, Blair Co., PA and died August, 1979 in Baytown, Harris Co., TX (40 miles east of Houston, TX).He had one sibling, a sister, Elizabeth, b. abt. 1922 also in Altoona, PA.
AA Aikey's father and mother also lived and died in Altoona, PA.
AAA's grandfather was raised by his matherial grandmother in Mt. Eagle, Centre Co., PA.
AAA's great-grandfather ("Dad") went to the Wheat Fields of Nebraska, S. Dakota or ?? soon after the Civil War and took his family, consisting of his wife ("Mom") and two boys. One boy was under 10 years of age and the other over 10 years of age.Their ages were probably 8 and 16 or there abouts.Shortly after their arrival in the Wheat Field Country, "Mom" became very ill."Dad" sent "Mom" and their younger son back to Mt. Eagle, PA."Dad" and the older son stayed in Wheat-Fiend-Country to work on the "farm".They either had their own land or were working for a farmer or ??
Shortly after arrival back in Mt. Eagle, PA, "Mom" died and left her youngest son to be raised by her mother."Dad" and the older son stayed to farm and became "lost" to the PA family.
I'm looking for any information on AAA's parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.I'm doing this for my children, Wm. Gerret & R. Van Swearingen, sons of Wm. R. (Bill) Swearingen & Mary Carroll AIKEY - dau ofAAA and Jesse GOODMAN.One day they will appreciate this work.
