Lets debunk Mr. Greene web page…..shall we….. Lets see, I have sent e-mails to Mr. Greene many times, he does not reply. He uses the word Metis in conjunction with the words Scot and Shawnee. He is unknown as a researcher of Shawnee genealogy.
It is my intention to keep genealogy research on track……its not true unless you can prove it……if you can prove it, you therefore have a factual start date…..
It would sure be nice if genealogy was done with family lore…..and unsubstantiated facts that do not fit with the history of the America.
Shawnee means “southern“. The Shawnee peoples disappeared out of the lower Ohio valley in the mid 1600’s (they were scattered to the Carolinas, Tennessee, Eastern Pennsylvania and southern Illinois (Shawnee of Pennsylvania and the Carolinas were Quakerized). The Shawnee returned to the area of the lower Ohio around 1770 (same time the Quakers moved into area).By 1820 the peoples of the Shawnee had been relocated to the Indian Territory of Oklahoma……..History of the Shawnee clearly show they hatred white Europeans.Shawnee historically never mixed with or lived among the white Europeans, nor did they live in Virginia or the tidewater area thereof, they did however have interracial marriages with the French and Spanish…….but you say what about the French (are they not white Europeans), well that’s where a real knowledge of European study comes into play.Spain and France have known Moorish connection, now the question is “what is a Moor”? The word Moor means “Black”, then the question is who were the Moors, they are Arabic and Hebrew peoples, decedents of the Turkish conquers of north Africa.Who came via the rock of Gibraltar to Iberian into Spain and France (where the moors ruled until the time of Columbus). You say where does this information come into play, bear with me…..
The genealogy of Chief Cornstalk…..being that he had 8 daughters, and this family traces their genealogy starting with names like Parker and Adkins, clearly well known names in the Quaker community….for anyone to claim Cornstalk as Ailstock relative is really groping in the genetic pool looking for connection to someone famous to claim in their family….
The word Metis……the true word is Mestizo which means of Native American and Spanish parentage……..I fine this very interesting……Mestizo is a straight cross of genetics’,fact is if your Mestizo that what you are…….you cant also be Scot and Shawnee…….you can be Native American, Black and Scot, which means your tri-racial……any further mixing, and your taken a dive into the Melungeon pool…..and sorry to say the Ailstock’s don’t swim there……
If your doing Ailstock genealogy…you already know that there is documentation proving that: Michael Ailstolk was already in the Colonies prior to 1730.… Your also aware that pol-tax list him and Kaziah (same last name) with a house full of males…… You also know that Ailstock listed on the tribal rolls are classified as Freedmen… freedmen were blacks living among the Native American peoples ..fact is if you’re a native American the rolls state it…..freedmen are not Native American. A great grandson of Michael Ailstock, claims in census record to be Jewish….. Lewis Ailstock claims place of birth as Martinique aka Caribbean/West Indies.
So you ask, what is my point………..I have been studying the Ailstock family for over 12 years…….I am currently working with a Hebrew genealogist in the UK….now you ask how do Hebrews and Ailstock’s fit together…..after years of finding no source for name Ailstock…..it occurred to me to use a translator…….. And would you believe, that the name Ailstolk translates in only 3 languages to the same name…….I present to you the original for Ailstolk
Ullis De Luna……..in Turkish means Moonlight…….in Arabic means lofty, sublime……in Hebrew means Oak tree………De Luna is a medieval Spanish name of Jewish origins…….
So are you ready for the De Luna family history……the De Luna family left Iberia, Spain in the early 1500’s, they were weavers that removed to the Caribbean, as first Spanish settlers…please make a note that the Moors ruled Spain for 900 years, which ended just before the time of Queen Isbell….which was the start of the Spanish Inquisition….for the Islamic Moors and the Jewish Moors it was convert to Christianity or leave Spain...
I encourage everyone to learn history sufficient enough to become real genealogist…..Are there real Native American in the Ailstock family, and the answer is yes…..and they are Pamunkey form Louisa County, VA…..
Supposition is not genealogy……..
Keep searching……the truth is there…. Thank you for your time. Diana Havens Research Analyst Claremore OK…….
