I can't believe I didn't find your post on the Ainsworth family until late last night. My grandfather was a brother to Alvin Franklin Jameson who married Oda Elizabeth Ainsworth, sister to JR Bwen Ainsworth.
These children could not have been the children of James Taylor Ainsworth m. Elizabeth Smith as he died before any of them were born. This James Taylor Ainsworth is the one bur. in Magnolia.
Who, then, is JR's father? Is there a second James T? If so, who is his father?
The James Taylor Ainsworth I show m. Elizabeth Smith was b. 3 May 1831, m. 4 Dec 1851 and d 31 Mar 1864.I show him to be the son of David A. Ainsworth. This is confirmed by David's will filed of record in Union Co. AR. I have read the will but do not have a copy. He names his children as follows: John Garrett Ainsworth (I have no dates or places for him) David Spence Ainsworth (no data) William H. Ainsworth (no data) Elizabeth Ainsworth b. 3 Jul 1819 Simpson Co Mo d. 7 Mar 1886 Arkansas; Mary S Ainsworth (no data) Nancy Ainsworth (no data) Isaac C Ainsworth b. 1824 d. 1884; James Taylor (see data above) Alfred (or Alferd) Ainsworth, a twin to Elbert Ainsworth. They were born 3 Jun 1837, Bound Twp, Copiah, MS. Alfred m. Susannah Morgan 27 Jan 1859 in El Dorado, Union, AR and d. 27 May 1911 in Marysville, Union, AR. I had no data on Elbert prior to reading your posting and its follow-ups. One of my great grandmothers was Saphronia Ann Ainsworth, b. 16 Dec 1859 Mt Holly, Union, AR. m. George Houston Smith 5 Oct 1882 Mt. Holly, Union, AR d. 1896. I have no other info on her death date. Her headstone simply says 1896. Her father was Alfred Ainsworth (above).
I need to figure out how she was related to JR Bowen Ainsworth. I knew him and his wife Minnievery well and spent a goodly amount of time with their youngest son Billy Doyce when I was growing up.
