I am trying to fill in information on the family of Levin Ainsworth, b. 1800, SC, and his wife Freelove aka Freelonia,b. abt. 1811, SC. I belive this Levin to be a son of Thomas Ainsworth(Hainsworth) and Sarah Finch.
Levin & Freelove are found in the 1850 census of Escambia, FL, along with their children: Alsn?? ??, age 18 male (can not read name) Sarah E., age 10, female Mary Ann, age 15, female James W., age 6, male George W., age 4, male Thomas J., age 1, male All children list birthplace as Alabama except Thomas J., born in FL.
In 1860 census I can find Freelove, James and George still in FL, assuming Levin died before 1860. In 1870 census I find James W. and George W., no others, again, I assume their mother died before 1870. In 1900, 1910, and 1920 I find only George W. with his wife and children still in Escambia, Florida.
Does anyone have information about what happened to the other children listed in the 1850 census?
