J. George Ainsworth, who had been identified with ST. Charles manufacturing business since reachig his majority, with the exception of some years spent in Peoria, died at his home Monday, at the age of 69 years.
George, as he was familiarly known here a number of years ago, was employed for years by the Moline Malleable Iron Co leaving in 1917 to take a similar position in Peoria.
Twelve years ago, after retirement, he and Mrs. Ainsworth and son Scott returned to St. Charles, securing a home at 415 Sixth avenue south.
Mrs. Ainsworth was the daughter of the late Wm. Scott, who came to St. Charles in 1875.
Besides the widow, a son, Scott, survives.
George Ainsworth was a prominent figure in St. Charles before leaving for Peopria, being active in social and business lines.
