I am looking for any leads on this married couple:
Joseph Charles Ainsworth and Annie Ainsworth (nee Young).
Joseph appears to have been born in either Mar or November 1857 in Wyoming. Parents' names unknown. He is listed on the 1892 Voters Registration Index for Cook Countny, Chicago, Illinois. According to that entry he was a resident for 14 yrs (from 1892) at 181 S. Halstead St Chicago. His profession that year was a carpet cleaner. His birthplace is listed as Wyoming. His parents' names are not noted but their birthplaces are and both of them are listed as having been born in Illinois.
I have seen the marriage license of Joseph Ainsworth dated 11 April 1881. He was aged 24 yrs. His wife was Annie Young aged 22 yrs.
Annie Young was born in Ohio on 17 November 1860. Her father's name appears to be John Quincey Adams Young of Ohio. She died on 4 September 1906 in New York City and was buried in Rosehill cemetery, Chicago. Her residence at the time was 71st Street Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. This was the same residence as her brother-in-law James McIntyre and her younger sister Emma McIntyre (nee Young). James McIntyre was a theatrical star (the Heath-McIntyre dance "black-face" duo). Emma McIntyre (nne Young) was also a stage star known under the pseudonym of Maude Clifford.
The only census entry I have found thus far is in 1900. Both Joseph and Annie were living together in Cook County, West Tower division, Chicago.
They had several children (unknown names), except for one, namely Maud. Maud was born on June 14, 1892 in Chicago but was raised by James McIntyre and Emma McIntyre as an adopted daughter.
Anyone have any more details - family tree data, certificates, other historical entries concerning these people?
