Debbie, as long as you can prove a direct/lineal parentalrelationship all the way back to Edward he his ultimately your grandfather by x number of generations. Rather he is grandfather to us all and we are related to each other as blood related cousin to varying degrees by which each descendant branch we come in by. Although I think by looking at the list the closest relative we all have is Edward(1). The further down the tree (closer the nearest ancestor is) is how close we are actually related. For example if the nearest "father" or "mother" you can find is my father then you are my sister, if it is my grandfather then you are a first cousin, great grandfather second cousin etc. I think that is how it goes. Edward(1)'s other son Thomas(2) is my first cousin x number of generations removed. Or in my case Thomas(2)'s son Moses(3) is my first cousin 6 times removed. I think that is how it's done. Don't quote me on it. I am not really sure. Can anybody else help me on this one?
