James Monroe Ainsworth was my gggrandfather.I have a booklet containing some reflections of Mary Elizabeth Humphreys Ainsworth. In this booklet she mentions that her husband James Monroe was the son of one of the first settlers in DeWitt County, TX.No mention is made of his parents or where they came from. They settled in DeWitt Co shortly after the Texas-Mexico war. James Monroe had at least two siblings. An older brother John and a younger brother Collin.I have no middle initials for either brother and I suspect other siblings. James Monroe and Mary Elizabeth had 13 children of which 11 survived to adulthood. I only know of their oldest child, George Otis, from whom I am descended. James Monroe and Mary Elizabeth are both buried in Post, TX. Mary Elizabeth's reflections are quite interesting. If you'd like, I would be willing to make a copy and mail it to you. Any other info you might have would be appreciated.
