Magnolia, Columbia Co., AR Cemetery Records show James Taylor Ainsworth b. June 16, 1862; d. January 25, 1939.His wife Margaret was b. February 3, 1870 and died October 6, 1950. I cannot tell you for sure who his parents were but David A. Ainsworth & Elizabeth Garrett had a son named James Taylor Ainsworth, b. March 3, 1831 in Simpson Co., MS; d. March 31, 1864 at Monticello while serving in CSA.He married Elizabeth Smith on December 4, 1851 in Rankin Co., MS. She was born December 28, 1827.One known child was Mary Elizabeth Ainsworth, b. December 7, 1852, d. January 18, 1893 married to ? Price. After this James Taylor Ainsworth was killed, Elizabeth married W. Jasper Cassidy in Columbia Co., AR in 1865.I have never looked for the Cassidys in the 1870 Census. It would be worth checking for your James in their household. You might also want to look in the 1870 census for David's son William H. & his wife, Agnes Hill.I know that I don't have all of their children documented. Another of David's sons, Elbert G. Ainsworth died in 1863 at Camp Douglas.I have one daughter listed for him and his wife, Margaret M. Morgan - Josephine, b. 1861.It is possible that they could have had a son b. 1862.I don't know if this Margaret remarried or where she might have been living in 1870. Elbert's twin brother, Alfred B. Ainsworth who married Susan Anna Morgan, had a son Tandy I. Ainsworth, b. 1863 who married an Ida Vinson in 1887 in Columbia Co., AR. The two Vinson women may have been related. This William Lewis may be the one who married a granddaughter of one of David's older sons in the Choctaw Nation lands of OK. Please let me know if you find your James Taylor in the 1870 census.David A. was the brother of my 3rd great grandfather and I can tell you a lot more about him and his family.
