I haven't heard of a valentine akerley but I will look sometime to see if it is my heritage. My forebears have always lived in albert county here in southwest new brunswick. The linage that I have is david ,david, winthrop, miles, norman, gerald and myself.Apparently, one of winthrops brothers,a rufus, left for halifax, where he had children.there is anakerley boulevard there which is named after one of his children. There are other akerleys in northwest New brunswick, but I have no idea where they came from.(kind of sad isn't it). One of my grandfathers nephews moved to connecticut,so im sure there are akerleys there as well.By the way, this rufus was a sea captain(no I don't think he was a pirate but that may well be in the blood.)There are also some akerleys in st john new brunswick .I thnk they are my relations, but I cant be sure.(it's not as if we were named smith or something). What is the linage of akerleys? Is it german or irish?I did find an Inkerley on one of the passenger lists on a boat which landed in pennsylvania.Inkerley, akerley, sounds kind of close to me.I see there are akerleys in northeast england.original tribe? My aunt has some more info on near relatives,so i'll hunt that up this week as i'm on vacation and get back to you if I can find some more info. Thanks for the post.
