Hi,
I am most interested in this. I do have a certified copy of Nancy Ann Akers White's death certificate. Did I send you a copy? If not, I will be glad to. I, of course, can't put my hands on it at the moment, but know I have it in one of these Aker's files.I do have a copy in front of me of James Madison Akers' death certificate - her brother. It has Elisha Aker and mother ____ Pratt. He died 22 Sept. 1829 in Baker Co. Oregon. He was one of the early settlers there, having driven a team of oxen from Mo. to Oregon. I have been working on the Akers family almost constantly since I sent copies of White info to you but have found very little and no connection of Ashael to any other Akers family. E-mail me at home [email protected] if you want any of the info that I have found on Akers family in Va. I did find Thomas Akers in Giles Co. in 1815 in court to post bond for William White who had been charged with trespassing.I also found Thomas Akers in 1820, I think, in Maury Co in estate settlement sale where he had bought items.Elizabeth, one of Rhoda's sister's married a White - John's will. And in Franklin Co., Va. I found a marriage for one Elizabeth Pratt and William White, 4 Aug. 1806. Is this the same Elizabeth Pratt and William White. Also, the land that Asahel purchased was originally granted to a William White. Now, I think that the William White in Franklin Co., VA. was the son of Obediah White who married Rhoda Arthur, Frances Arthur's sister. After Rhoda Arthur died, Obediah married a Lucinda Akers 28 April 1806. Another researcher that I was in contact with had Elizabeth Pratt married to Middleton White, another one of Obediah's sons. Now, in Barren Co., Ky. (Obediah and Lucinda were there and I think that is where Obediah died.)was where one Thomas Akers married Susannah White 31 Dec. 1812. Guess who Susannah was? Yep! Obeidah's daughter. Another of Obediah's daughters Nancy White married William A. Akers 24 Dec. 1807.
Now, one research stated that Thomas, William A., and Lucinda were all brothers and sisters but I don't think so.I haven't looked at this in a while, but do have some info if it can be pieced together. I have nothing to piece Ashael to this family - UNLESS - and this is a big blank space that needs to be researched, Thomas who married Susannah White in 1812 was the same Thomas who married Patsy Hamm in Lauderdale Co. Ala. in 1820. But, I have not been able to find any info on the Thomas who married Susannah White in Barren Co. Ky. There are no census records, etc. available in our library. And if he is the same Thomas, where did he go after 1820?
