I am descended from Asahel Akers and still have not found the family to which he is connected.
I found an old e-mail (Aug. 3, 1999) from imPking@sybercom.net. The address is no longer valid.I found p. 1 but not p. 2 so I do not know the person's name that sent this to me.
She stated that Isaac had 3 children born in Alabama and a brother named Thomass born 1782 in Barren Co. Ky.She said that one of her family researchers found a book at the Church of the Latter Day Saints library in Paris, Henry Co., Tn. that gave this information. She also told me that I could access this book athttp://www2.fwi.com/~llakershttp://www2.fwi.com/~llakers.I have not been able to do so.She told me I could get the name of the book at this site, since the book was being put online and was up to page 30 at this time.
She gave me this info: Uriah Akers b. 1734 Chester Co Pa died 1784 Green Co. Tn. Married Elizabeth Smith in 1754 in Augusta, Va. 4 chldren: Abner Akers b. 1759 Va John Akers b. 1765 Va Thomas Akers b. 1782 Isaac Akers B. 1784 Barren Co., Ky d. 10 - 18 - 1839 Mansfield, Henry Co. Tn. married Lucinda Elliot b. 1789 Barren Co. Ky. m. 1809 in Barren Co. Ky. They had 7 children.
My question is:What is their relationship to Ashael?I feel that since he and Thomas were together in 1818 in Alabama, Thomas moved on to Livingston County, Ky. and Asahel named his youngest son Livingston, that there has to be a connection. Is it possible that Asahel was a nephew of Thomas, or brother that has been unlisted. If you have any leads or info that would help, I would deeply appreciate your input.
