Tiffany, I don't know how much this will help, but let's try.
I pulled up an obit for your GF from the Wayne County (MO) Journal-Banner, 15 Feb 2004:
William E. Akers, 67, of Chesterfield, died 6 Feb 2004.He was married to Penelope Brockmeyer and she preceeded him in death.
Mr. Akers loved to fly and ride his motorcycle. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a frequent visitor to Clearwater Lake.
He is survived by one son, Patrick Akers, seven sisters -- I'm not going to list them all -- three brothers, George, Jerry, and Larry Akers.
He was preceeded in death by one son, Christopher Thomas Akers.
The funeral was held 9 Feb 2004 at Antioch Baptist Church, Chesterfield.Burial was in the""" Cemetery.Schrder Funeral Home, Ballwin, MO. ***
From the Social Security Death List I found that Penelope was b. 1 Jan 1939, d. 7 Jun 1994. Christopher T. was b. 31 Jan 1961, d. 13 Apr 1993.
Tiffany, I sure we're conected somewhere in the distant past.Virtually all of the Akers around today came down through Virginia in the late 1700's.From there they split off to Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, and Missouri. My GG-GF, Rev. Peter Akers, was born in VA in 1790, moved to KY, where he became a Methodist circuit rider and remained in KY until about 1832 he moved on to Illinois, where he was the first President of McKendree College in Lebanon.
Try www.mo.gov/archives/resources/birthdeath for your GF's death certificate and go from there.Let me know if you are able to develop any information.
You mentioned only one of your uncles.Could the other two possibly provide you with any information?
