Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. Unfortunately I do not have the type of proof that I would like to have but this is what I have done. I have searched through many of the Akers family trees that have been posted on the net and after looking at them and reading what some people have done to ascertain their lineage I chose the William Akers and Elkins line as the most probable. Then I set out to justify my conclusion and the following is the rationale that I used. It is not the best and I shall keep looking but I do believe the reasoning is fairly sound. As you can see I started with Lydia Elkins parents and worked forward from there. I’m sorry I don’t have anything better but should I chance upon something I will be certain to inform you. Please do the same for me. This is my daughter-in-law’s line and my husband and I are working on it for fun as she and my son are expecting their first born shortly.
Good luck, June
Lydia Elkins parentage is Archibald and Margaret:
Mary, Eliza, and Lydia are all mentioned in their father’s will along with 2 brothers Absolamreported to have been born 6 Nov 1781 in Montgomery Co. and David.

On the 1870 & 1880 censuses Lydia is listed living with their son Solomon and his family. The house next door is unoccupied .
On the 1880 census Daniel is living next door
