Leland, Many thanks for the kind comments in your posting of September 20th. It would be great if connections could be made between direct [male] descendants of William the Quaker AKERS and those of the AKERS family that lived in Wantage Berkshire England in the 17th century. There was an ACRES/ACREE/AKERS DNA Project that was instigated about 3 or 4 years ago. If there are any direct AKERS descendants of William the Quaker in the US who were willing to submit their DNA to the above mentioned DNA [exact details of which I do not immediately have to hand but which I can post in due course on this Forum] perhaps they would get in touch with me. I will try & trace living English direct male descendants of this line to see if they are willing to submit DNA. My AKERS ancestors came from Berkshire/Oxfordshire and may have been from Wantage and therefore possibly related to William the Quaker [I say possibly as I cannot prove my ancestry any further back than about 1790]. My DNA has already been submitted to the above mentioned ACRES/ACREE/AKERS Project. I look forward to hearing from any potential "cousins". Kind regards, Adrian Akers.
