William F. (Billy) Akin, son of Isham Akin, married first to Mary Elizabeth("Lizzie") Wier, born 1834 in Pickens Co., AL., daughter of Samuel and Jane M. Means Wier who had moved to Lee Co., Miss. The name was sometimes spelled Weir. They had 3 children: Samuel Williams AKIN born 1869 in Lee Co., Mississippi James Rovert AKIN born 1862 in Mississippi Martha Jane ("Mattie") AKIN born 1864 in Mississippi, who was living in Mobile, AL., in 1899. Mary Elizabeth was living with her widowed mother Jane Wier in Yalobusha County, Miss. in 1850.They had moved there from Lee Co. evidently to be near Samuel Wier's brother, James Wier Jr., who had bought land there in the 1830s.James Jr. and brothers Samuel and Thomas Hamilton Wier had bought land in Lee County in the early days, too.
William F. Akin and Mary Elizabeth (Wier) Akin were living in Lee Co., Mississippi, in 1880 but later moved to Sipsey Ridge, Greene Co./Pickens County, Alabama. Akin died of a heart attack sitting at the breakfast table in November 1900/01 at Sipsey Ridge, Pickens County.I don't see Lovie on the 1910 census in Pickens or Greene Co. so she may have died.
