Looking for J William Akins on 1900 Palos, Jefferson, Alabama census records. He was 19 and married to Fanney S for 2 years. married about 1898 shows James W Akins, Katie Akins and John B Akins.
I have seen him on census records as William J Akins.Family members remember him as Will.He lived across the road in Oakman from Samuel James Mikie Robbins and Bama McNutt Robbins.
Fanney S(aka Sarah Francis Tidwell McNutt),known as Granny Akins by the Robbins side of the family, and was about 15 years older than Will. They didn't have any children, but the census records show children who were actually Fanney's by John Alexander McNutt from Dekalb Co, Al. On Sarah Francis Tidwell McNutt's tombstone her last name is spelled Aken.
Fanny on the census records is actually Sarah Francis Tidwell McNutt and is also Alabama "Bama" Stacha and Rev. John Birdex "Bird" McNutt's mother. Bama married Samuel James Mikie Robbins.
I don't know anything about Will's family and want to know where he is buried. I am hoping in finding his relatives that maybe they can answer a question for me.
Samuel James Mikie Robbins mother was Mary J Rhodes married John/James Robbins (not sure about Samuel's father this is my missing link)Mary J Rhodes Robbins married William Alex Pugh and had several children after the Robbins husband died.
Any lead you can give on this Akin/Aken family is greatly appreciated. These are my husband's people and there are several older cousins would like to know Will's whereabouts. They all are approaching 90 years of age and not in the best health. Thanks
