I'm interested in your Jesse Akin line. I have been searching for the past two years for an Akin family connection to my g-grandfather, Sidney Akin. He was born 1830, either AL or GA. He is listed on 1860 Jackson Co. AR census, on the 1870 Scott Co. AR census, 1880 Parker Co. TX census and 1890 Indian Terr. OK census. He enlisted in the Confederate Army in Jackson Co, AR and received a land patent in Scott Co. AR. He was married to Sarah ?, who supposedly was 1/2 or 1/4 Indian. He died sometime after 1915, probably around the Hugo, OK area. His children were:
Stephen
Ferlenia (m: Mr. Brinlee)
John Levi (m: Missouri Ann Brinlee)
William Jesse (m: Rosa Ann Duvak)
Docia (m: Mr. Birdwell)
Lemuel
Minnie (m: Mr. Anders and named one of her daughters Valentine)
Since several children of Jesse and Piety Akin have similiar names to my Akins, I'm hoping there might be a connection. I will appreciate any information connecting to this family.
