Hi all.O.K. - here it goes...(new information)...I think we've found my paternal great-grandfather's side...1900 Campbell County, TN Census shows the following:
George Akins, head, b.Dec 1870, age 29, m. 10 years, TNTNTN Coal Miner
Lizzie Akins, wife, b. Jan 1871, age 29, m. 10 years, 2 ch. 1-liv. KYKYKY
The 1880 Census for BLOUNT County TN (which Monroe County is right next to it) shows the following, except on their report the last name was spelled AKENS:
Robert M. Akins, self, M M W 46 TNTNTN, farm laboror Laurenia N. Akins, wife F M W 36 TnNCTn Mary T. Akins, dau F S W 20 TNTNTN Marthey M. Akins, dau F S W 15 TNTNTN Jinney A. Akins, dau F S W 13 TN Margret E. Akins, dau F S W 12 TN George C. Akins, son M S W 10 TN Samuel R. Akins, son M S W 8 TN Nancy L. Akins, dau F S W 3 TN Lorie Allice Akins, dau F S W 7m TN
I THINK THIS GEORGE C. IS MY GREAT GRANDFATHER!!!!!Hooray!!!!!Wow...this internet thing works fast.Now, I need to find someone that can check out the 1910 and 1920 Census for Campbell County TN to see if my GGF George still lived there in those years.
