Hi, Mary.I have been helping my father-in-law with his genealogy, and it turns out he belongs to your same line! His name is Ralph Cleve Akins, son of Olmer "Jack" Cleve Akins.Ralph's dad was named for his uncle, your grandfather Olmer.
I got your grandfather's social security info, and it lists Bloomer Akins, b. Oct. 30, 1834, as his father, and Sarah Dearing as his mother.Another record that I found says that her name was Sary Jane Divine, b. Sept. 1852, and that they were married Jan. 31, 1869 in Dade Co, Missouri.I tend to believe that Sary's last name probably was Divine, as that's what the marriage record info someone looked up said.
And yes, your grandfather did have a brother Robert, b. Mar. 1883; a brother Dick, b. Mar. 1875 married to Maggie, with a daughter, E.C.By the way--what "aka Lee" mean?
Bloomer Akins'father and mother were James Akins, b. about 1811, married Jan. 22, 1828 to Eleanor White, b. Jan. 14, 1813.
I have quite a bit more information I can send you if you're interested.I'll be out of town from this afternoon until late Friday night, but would be happy to send you what I have when I get back.
