Well hello there. Have you found Melvina Akins Rankins Tombstone Yet? My grandpa must of been mistaken on his burial. They were in Arkansas when he died. She lived there in Elgin Arkansas on the Farm. Nothing is left of the Farm now only the land. I'm so excited get to talk to someone on Akins side. Do you know much about the Rankin boys. His 1/2 brothers? Ill change my records on James Milton Akins s/o Melvina being buried in AL then. My grandpa's mother was Margaret Melvina Akins who married Thomas Jefferson Coe. They lived in Jackson Co. AR until their deaths. They are Buried in Chesire Cem. HIs grandmother was Lucinda Rankins Akins who marriedJames M Akins. Thats when he said they were buried in Salem Cem. You would never find the graves it is so overgrown and no many tombstones left. It is said that some of their slaves are buried in same Cem as her. But I have not found any slaves. Not saying they had none. But I havent found any yet. It is a black cem. That she is suppose to be buried in. Do you know anything on her sonMarcus De Lafayette Akins he was said to have fell in a well and drown. Thanks for any info.
