I am also doing research on the Alanis family. My grandfather is Andres Alanis, brother of Zenon Alanis. It is very interesting that you still have relatives of advanced age. Please get as much information about the family history while they are alive. Besides obtaining birth, death, and marriage documents, it is very important to know about their lives.
When I found that my grandfather was baptized in China, Nuevo Leon, I went there in search of history of the area. I met a local historian that had written a book of the history of China. This book covers the history of the area since 1790. It is very interesting. He also has prepared a data base of the church records of the Catholic Church of China. When I gave him the name of Esteban Alanis, he found the record of his first marriage in Gachupin, a small community close to China. I keep in touch with him through E-mail.
If you are interested in sharing some information regarding the family, please E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
