I am trying to find information concerning Dr. Alba for the purpose of getting a government headstone for him. I have exhausted every avenue I can think of. He was born in 1900 in Manila and was one of 14 children. He received a PHD in Ethnology at Heidelberg University in 1936 (I believe). He was an officer in WW2 and was wounded at Omaha Beach. He died at Pendleton, Or. in 1975.I was shocked when I visited his gravesite last year and found his grave unmarked. I am just hoping someone will have remembered him and can give me more information to get the proof I need so a stone can be placed at his grave. The security act forbids giving information to anyone who is not a relative, and since I am only a friend, records are unavailable to me. Can anyone help? This is one of the most unforgettable people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and it seems so unjust that hebe deprived ofthis recognition.
