One of the most quoted Wheelock histories is "The Wheelock family in America 1637-1969" compiled by Walter T. Wheelock. In that text, page 13,the listing for the daughter of Benjamin (2) Wheelock is:
"Abiel (or Abigail) b. at Medfield Sept. 30, 1676 (see #2007)"
item 2007 says: "This may be the "Abiel" who married Joseph (3) Ward June 5, 1700 at Northboro, Mass.Joseph was the son of Samuel and nephew of Increase (2) Ward who married Record Wheelock, an aunt of this "Abiel."Joseph Ward died June 30, 1717, age 47; they had seven children."
Not exactly a ringing endorsement of fact. But while the Wheelock history may not solve that question, it also has Margaret Wheelock (dau of Obadiah and Elizabeth) as married to James Albee. (m. 16 Jul 1739).
Reference number 2029 states that "After the death of Margaret Wheelock, James married Hannah Parmanter.James Albee, born Feb. 21, 1711, was the son of James (4) and Mary (Thayer) Albee--James (3), Benjamin (2), Edward (1).
Does anyone know about the Margaret Wheelock/James Albee family?
