The R.S. Albee book claims my ancestor was the Eleazer Albee born in 1740 in Mendon. But our family records say he came from Scotland, along with John Albee, his father. John died and Eleazer was appointed his own guardian in 1759. But I would like to know the source of R.S. Albee's assertion.
I hesitate to accept the fact that all Albees came from Benjamin, for I've found others with the last name who came completely on their own.
