Mary,
I tried to post this yesterday, but it didn't show up. If it's duplicated somewhere, sorry. Now, I'm at work while the information is at my parent's house. Anyway, my family history shows Anton Albers marrying Anna Maria Alf at St. Joseph's Church. Two of their children were Joseph (the one who became a bishop, but he was a diocesan priest, not a Franciscan) and William Henry, the founder of the grocery store chain. William Henry married a woman name Plogman, who died in 1909, then married a woman named Brown, who died in the 1950's. Anna Maria's parents were named Alf and Luhn. If this sounds right, let me know and I'll get more complete dates and such. I also know that Joe Albers kept in contact with his cousin Clemens Albers through the 1950's. Clemens lived in or around Oldenburg. I have a few letters that Clemens wrote to Anna Albers and a few that he wrote just after the war in an attempt to get some shoes, clothing and food from this side of the Atlantic.
