Thank you for your reply! All we know is his name, Julius Louis (or Lewis) Albers. He was born in 1841 and came to America alone when he was about 16 or 17.Somehow he ended up at relations farm in Corydon Indiana (southern Indiana). He joined the Union army during the civil war. In a deposition after he was discharged due to an injury, a witness "John Henry Pepper (Peper) states he is Julius's third cousin.John Henry's father also listed a statement on Julius's behalf, his name was Henry Pepper (Peper). I have tried to connect the Albers and Peper families and have a thin thread leading to Kirchwarder, Hamburg...possible the family of Christian Albers and Maria Pfingst but this is only speculation. Julius named his children, Anna, Bertha, Thomas and William.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!!!!! sincerely, Patti Callaghan
