I want to share with you the information that a wonderful genealogist, Karen Higgens from West Chester, PA, has found for us on the Rickloff Alberson/Albertson line.
From Old Swedes marriages 1795-1816, Philadelphia, PA, p. 2201, is the marriage of Rickloff's son, Gilbert. It reads as follows:
June 1810:Gilbert Alberson, s.o. Rickloff Alberson in Philadelphia and his deceased wife Mary; age 30, lumber merchant to Sarah LEE, d.o. William and Susannah Lee in Philadelphia, age 19. Both of Philadelphia.
Karen also found will abstracts for a Thomas Coats, Sr. (1772)and Thomas Coates, Jr.(1758).Thomas Coats Sr. had a daughter named Mary Albertson. At this time, we are looking into this being the wife of Rickloff.
The children of Gilbert and Sarah(Lee) Alberson/Albertson are: Gilbert Mary C. Thomas b. July 27, 1814 Charles Shaw b. Dec. 27, 1817 William Stewart b. Oct. 31, 1820 Sarah b. circa 1825 marr. Thomas L. Hicks Henry b. Nov. 3, 1828
In 1806 and 1814, Rickloff is a lumber merchant as is his son, Gilbert.By 1820, a Rickloff Alberson is found in Covington, Tioga Co., PA.
It is possible that the Elizabeth Bagge and Susanna Edwards are daughters of Rickloff and Mary. One would also presume that William Alberson is a son and brother to Gilbert.
