I am an Albiston from Aberdeen and just saw your post. A large number of Albistons emigrated to the US in the 1920s. My grandfather and his family returned when the depression started but many remained over there and we are still in contact.
In fact, I was going to contact you regarding the earliest Albiston I have found. A William Albiston turned up in Aberdeen in 1828 and married a soldier's daughter. He is the first recorded Albiston in Scotland. I was wondering if he could be the William christened at St Mary's, Stockport on 20th April 1800. Do you have any further information?
