Almond Albrecht

I am hoping someone can help me.

My Grandfather was Almond Henry Albrecht b. abt 1898 d. 1965

I have found him in the 1900 and 1910 Census, he is listed, oddly enough, as the adopted son of Louis A. & Emelia Albrecht of Victoria County Texas.Sisters are Lydia and Lula Albrecht.

Oral family history has always said he was adopted by a German family, it seems we now have proof, the problem is, on the Census it lists his parents birth place as Unknown, we are trying to find his birth parents and their lineage.

Anyone know of this branch of the Albrechts?If so have you heard anything about an adopted child?We cannot find any birth records on him as the Central Registry did not start collecting records until 1903, and the birth records in Victoria County do not start until 1902.

I am looking for anyone with maybe a family bible, or other records, or even oral stories that may give us a clue as to where to look.
