Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me clear up some confusion I have on Nancy Albright (b. 1825 in Ohio) married to John Eakins on 09 Dec 1841 in Muskingum County, Ohio.
I have seen on different family trees and also on the LDS site, the claim that Nancy (Albright) Eakins died 16 Aug. 1869 in Ormanville, Wapello Co, Iowa and is buried at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Marion Twp, Davis Co, Iowa.
My confusion is that I found Nancy listed in the 1870 US Census living in Green Twp, Wapello Co, Iowa. Post Office: Ottumwa, Iowa Page 28 Enumerated on 16 June 1870 Line 5 - John Eakins age 64 - Farmer - born in Pennsylvania Line 6 - Nancy Eakins age 45 - Keeping house - Born in Ohio Line 7 - Samuel Eakins age 25 - Farm Laborer - born in Ohio Line 8 - David Eakins age 21 - Farm Laborer - born in Ohio Line 9 - Daniel Eakinsage 17 - At home - born in Ohio Line 10 - John Eakins age 14 - At Home - born in Ohio Line 11 - Sarah Eakins age 11 - born in Ohio Line 12 - Eliza A. Eakins age 7 - bornh in Ohio Line 13 - George Eakins age 6 - born in Ohio
Also please note that directly below them is their son, William Eakins, and wife Sarah and 2 daughters Mary & Sarah.
So if Nancy is in the 1870 census she could not have died in 1869. When did Nancy (Albright) Eakins die and where is she buried?Does anyone have a photo of her gravestone? Can someone help me with the proper documentation?
One last research note: When I checked on Ancestry.com for the Iowa Cemetery Records; I found only the following EAKINS listed as being buried in Ormanville Cemetery: Charles Eakins DOB 1875 & DOD 8 April 1921 John R. Eakins DOB 1855 & DOD 1936 Sarah Eakins DOB 1849 & DOD 01 March 1908 William Eakins DOB 1846 & DOD 07 April 1934
