I have some records from Early Pennsylvania Lineages by Charles Adam Fisher (1886). Of course, his material could be faulty which, if this is the case, has really led a lot of us astray! His info on the Michael Albright family is confusing, to say the least. He says that MIchael had a sister (unnamed)who married Mr. Holtzapple and left two sons, John and Jacob (does this mean she died before Michael did????) He does say that my Michael died in 1815 leaving his widow, Catherine Elizabeth (Bauer) Albright. For some reason he shows the following people connected to Michael: Emanuel (o.k, his son); Anna Elizabeth 2/23/1760 - 6/20/1832 (married Simon Ritter) Her age suggests she's Michael's oldersister; Elizabeth (o.k., Michael's daughter); Mary 12 years old when Michael died - what relation?)
The copy of my Michaels Will leaves his estate partly to his wife, Catherine, and his two children, Emanuel and Elizabeth. They had an estate sale in 1825, after the death of CAtherine (Albright) Stees, the widow had married John Stees after Michael's death.I have copies of what was sold at that sale and to whom.
Adam Light, an accountant, settled up the estate. He shows a payment to an "H. Bellus" regarding "the Holtapple estate". I rather feel it has something to do with his siter, Elizabeth Holtzapple who must have died, or was widowed, before her brother died.
Land records show deals between Michael and Magdalena Albright and others between 1794 and 1797. Cemtery records show them side by side. She died in 1809 - he died in 1815.
Yes - confusing! I'd be very interested to see the info you have and see if if connects in any way to mine. Thanks so much for responding. Pleas e-mail me and we can exchange info.
