Spelling for this family name appears as "ALBRITTON" as well as "ALLBRITTON". However, it's not clear if this is a different family line or a different spelling of the same family line. For example, what is the relationship (if any) between JAMES W ALBRITTON (1820-1910) and JAMES O ALLBRITTON (1907-1933)? There are of course, many other "ALBRITTONS" and "ALLBRITTONS" that pose the same question.
However, there does not appear to be a documented relationship or explanation for the variation in spelling. Are these two family lines related and if so, who is their most recent common ancestor? This question is posted with the hope that someone of sufficient knowledge will be able to clarify the relationship (if any) between these two family groups.
