I've not got anything on the mystery - have you found out what happened to Ben Allen yet?
Ira Skinner (b. around 1804) and Allen Albritton are my g-g-g-g grandfathers. I'm descended from William A. J. Albritton's and Mary Skinner's daughter Susan Priscilla Albritton Glass.
I'm looking for:
1. date of death for Ira Skinner 2. Most of the Albritton bros. served in the CSA. I have records for: Henry - died POW at Camp Randall, WI May 1862 Matthew Ford Albritton - suffered various illnesses and wounded in battle Allen Kendrick A. - was wounded in battle
George Washington A. - wounded/disabled resulting in discharge - not from battle - in late summer 1862...I have not been able to discover the nature of his disablement - any idea?
Also - did oldest brother William A. J. actually serve in the war? Some records show his younger cousin William as a musician in the CSA. Some show this musician to be William A. J. I have found no service record for William A. J. Albritton (b. 1822).
3. My g-g-grandmother Susan Priscilla Albritton Glass married Thomas J. Glass of AL. Most everything lines up for him to be the son of Zachariah Glass and his wife Sarah F. Holt Glass both of Marengo County, AL. I have the Navarro Co., TX marriage license for Susan and Thomas, but no documentation to actually prove Zachariah and Sarah as Thomas' parents. Any info. on the background of Susan Albritton Glass' husband?
